Aftercare

Here are your care instructions for the next 2-3 weeks while your tattoo heals:

Step 1: CLEAN

1-2 hours after leaving the studio gently cleanse and massage the tattoo with cold water and un-scented soap.

(artist may or may not have wrapped you with glad wrap, if you have been wrapped take the gladwrap off first - you do not need to wrap the tattoo again after this)

Step 2: DRY

Pat dry after cleansing and let the tattoo stay dry for 2 minutes.

Step 3: APPLY

Apply a thin layer of your chosen moisturiser.

(I recommend: Hustle Butter Deluxe, Bepanthen tattoo specific ointment, After Inked, unscented moisturisers like QV, Cetaphil and Sorbelene)

Step 4: REPEAT

Moisturise the tattooed area at least four times daily.

Repeat steps 1-3 each time you moisturise - CLEAN, DRY, APPLY.

There is an itchy stage where the tattoo will get dry and skin will start to flake/scab off. This is usually after the fourth day, It’s important you do not peel or pick the loose skin here, and instead apply your chosen moisturiser to relieve the itch.
